Jakarta (ANTARA) - Ikon musik dunia asal Inggris Elton John menjadikan "Step into Christmas" sebagai lagu natal ceria dan energik yang mengundang pendengar untuk merangkul musim perayaan hari lahirnya Isa almasih dengan sukacita dan kegembiraan.
Lirik lagu tersebut mengisyaratkan ucapan "terima kasih dan selamat natal" yang tulus dari Elton dan rekan penulis lagunya, Bernie Taupin, kepada para penggemar. Sebab tahun penulisan lagu tersebut, 1973, sangat baik bagi Elton John, di mana dua albumnya di tahun tersebut: "Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player" dan "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" laku di pasaran.
Lagu itu menampilkan melodi yang menarik, lirik yang bersemangat, serta video musik yang menangkap esensi ceria dari pagi Natal yang menggembirakan, dengan ornamen konfeti dan balon-balonnya, menurut Songfacts.
Dalam rangka merayakan ulang tahun ke-50 singel "Step into Christmas," John telah merilis kompilasi digital yang menampilkan lagu tersebut beserta beberapa lagu liburan lainnya dalam format mini album (extended play/EP) bertajuk "Step into Christmas" berisi tujuh lagu, termasuk versi rekaman awal "Step into Christmas" tahun 1973 bersama sisi B-nya ketika dirilis berjudul "Ho Ho Ho (Who'd Be a Turkey at Christmas)".
