Jakarta (ANTARA) - Komponis Stephen Schwartz menciptakan lagu "For Good" untuk dibawakan para aktor saat mendekati akhir pementasan drama musikal "Wicked", yang pertama kali ditampilkan di teater di San Francisco, Amerika Serikat.
Schwartz menulis dan mengaransemen lagu yang terinspirasi dari putrinya Jessica ketika berpisah dengan seorang teman yang mungkin tidak akan bertemu lagi pada masa depan.
Dua tokoh utama pada drama musikal "Wicked" Glinda dan Elphaba menyanyikan "For Good" ketika mereka berpisah, menandai akhir persahabatan mereka yang rumit. Kristin Chenoweth dan Idina Menzel, aktris yang pertama kali memerankan Glinda dan Elphaba, membawakan lagu tersebut di teater.
"For Good" juga menjadi salah satu lagu yang masuk serial televisi musikal "Glee" pada musim kedua yang tayang pada 2011. Pada serial "Glee", lagu itu dibawakan oleh Rachel Berry (diperankan oleh Lea Michele) dan Kurt Hummerl (Chris Coffer) pada episode ke-22.
